ST
History

The ST group was formed in June 1987 from the merger of two large semiconductor companies: the Italian SGS Microelettronica and the French Thomson Semiconducteurs, the semiconductor branch of the French giant Thomson . In May 1998 , the company changes its name from SGS-THOMSON to STMicroelectronics following the withdrawal of Thomson SA.
SGS-Thomson manufactured Motorola 6803 and 6805 microcontrollers, 68000, Zilog Z8 0 and Transputer .
STMicroelectronics has created 486-type processors like the ones you can see on this page, as well as the 8-bit STM8 , 32-bit ARM -based STM32 and 32-bit Power -based SPC5 microcontrollers focused on the automotive sector.
Before, he created other already discontinued microcontrollers such as ST6, ST7, ST10, ARM7 and ARM9.
