In 80386 it was the first 32-bit processor.

In the case of AMD processors, they were usually always faster than their Intel competitors.

As a general rule, if Intel manufactured a 33 MHz processor, AMD manufactured the same model but at 40 MHz.

In general, AMD was always ahead of Intel in terms of the speed of its processors. That small speed advantage helped him carve out more of the computer market.
