80286
Story

In 1982 the 80286 was released. This revolutionary processor incorporated multitasking for the first time.

The 80286 had two modes of operation, real mode and protected mode.

In the first case, it behaved the same as an 8086 processor, which ensured full compatibility with existing applications for previous processors. In protected mode it was where this processor developed its full potential, capable of addressing up to 16MB of RAM.
