8086/8088
Story

The 8086 was the first processor that allowed a leap in the history of computing.
Manufactured by Intel and released by IBM in their first compatible computers (the first PCs).
It was really thanks to this processor that personal computers were born.
The 8086 had a 16-bit data bus, while its little brother, the 8088 had a 16-bit structure internally, but externally it communicated with an 8-bit data bus. This brought with it a considerable cheapening of the processor, which resulted in a greater and faster deployment of computing at that time.

Dual in Line: This type of encapsulation is very common in the construction of integrated circuits. It was one of the first sockets used, invented in the 70's and still used today.
