Story

It is an improved version of the classic 8088.
In this case the processor addressed 8 data bits. In these models, other components were integrated for the first time within the integrated circuit itself.
This meant a significant saving of external circuitry.
The advances made in this processor were later applied to the 80286.

Plastic Leaded Chip Carrier: This type of package has a square or rectangular shape and its number of pins ranges from 20 to 84.
The advantage of the PLCC package is that it can be mounted directly on the board or mounted on the PLCC socket.
